We found Silver Gate Guides that offer tours out of the town of Silver Gate into Lamar Valley.

Lamar Valley is also known as America's Serengeti because of the large variety of animals that call this valley home. This is definitely one of the best places to see wildlife in Yellowstone. Planning a trip to Yellowstone should include a visit to Lamar Valley if you want to experience something really special.

We did some research for you and Silver Gate Guides has several excellent tour options to choose from. For the early morning risers, a sunrise tour will provide lots of talking points and eye candy. It will not disappoint. As a bonus, Lamar Valley is probably the least crowded part of the park.

For the not-so-early risers, Silver Gate Guides offer a sunset tour. We found this tour to be exceptional for wolf-watching. You might encounter more visitors but compare to the rest of the park we did not find it overcrowded. We saw several animals on the drive into Lamar Valley from Silver Gate but once we got into the valley we were blown away by the number of animals. If you happen to be in the park during July or August you will get to witness the famous Bison rut. Get ready to witness something really special.

For the more adventurous we recommend a full-day tour. You get to experience a sunrise tour including a hike in Lamar Valley that can be customized, depending on physical abilities. The hike into Trout Lake is one not to be missed.
